This palatial home in the heart of Barcelona was built in the Catalan modernist style at the end of the 19th century, but a subsequent conversion to offices had stripped it of much of its original charm. To restore the space to its former glory and convert it back into a home, the design team painstakingly restored the colourful Nolla mosaic floors and the ornate poly-chrome ceilings and cornices. Modern touches, where they appear, contrast elegantly with these decorative flourishes, from gallery-like light fixtures to a bathroom clad in simple sand-toned rectangular tiles.
