The clients, three siblings, wanted a new abode on their ancestral property. For the architects, the courtyard home was an ideal typology, since it symbolizes both individuality and togetherness. To create this triplex in the style of a traditional Chinese house, the architects played up these themes by building overhangs in the upper private spaces that look out over the lower communal realm. At the centre of the home is the most personal touch: a memorial garden in honour of the siblings’ mother.

To create this triplex in the style of a traditional Chinese house, Neri&Hu played up the themes of individuality and togetherness.
